This is a YA novel. I do not know the conventions of this genre, so I’m not reviewing as a YA fiction expert. I’m also discussing the fifth book in a series without having read any of the previous four.

So, basically, this is a masterpiece, and Isabel Allende walks on water. Well, the walking on water is a bit much, but she is high on my list of favorite authors.
